"Stacee Brown is a gem! I have a chronic upper back injury, which the doctors have been perplexed by. Nothing was helping until I went to Stacee. She has such an intuitive understanding how how the joints, ribs, vertebra, and fascia all work together to cause dysfunction in specific areas.  She does super helpful joint mobilization work during sessions and assigns useful exercises that match current functioning (in contrast, other PTs assigned me things that were too advanced and immediately put me in bad flares). Stacee tailors her approaches to the patient's unique structure and function. She is extremely smart and gifted. On top of that. she is a really nice person, with whom I always enjoy talking. My only regret is that I didn't find her sooner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone. She is amazing!"

"I have spent the past year with on and off back pain.  As the pain was steadily worsening I decided it was time to do something about it.  I went to a chiropractor near Union Square and the treatments made the pain much worse.  I employed the "no pain, no gain" philosophy expecting things to improve but after 10+ visits my back was at its worst.  My fiance who is a nurse recommended I try a physical therapist instead of a chiropractor and this is when I found Stacee at FORM.

I emailed for an appointment and the response was quick, unfortunately Stacee was not accepting new patients but promised to let me know when an opening was available.  A few days later Stacee emailed me an available appointment time and I confirmed.  I described the problem to Stacee and within 10 minutes it felt like she knew my exact issue.  I have seen Stacee a total of 7 times thus far and I am nearly 100%.  It is very important to note that Stacee administers your entire therapy session and does not utilize assistants or helpers.

I would HIGHLY recommend seeing Stacee, she is a consummate professional with a true gift of healing people.  Don't miss this opportunity to help yourself!"

"Are you suffering from plantar faciitis? And I mean suffering---shooting pain in the heel as you walk during the day, stiff arches so you almost fall over when you get out of bed in the morning and stand up...all that stuff? Stacee will handle it all, with a calm smile.

I'd been dealing with p.f. for over four months; deeply affecting my life (didn't want to walk anywhere, let alone work out). Chiro was fine, but yes, it was the standard issue xerox sheets. Stacee is the opposite---you get a solid 55 mins of hands-on work--literally. She goes right to work on your foot/feet, hamstrings, whatever, and doesn't let up. And mind you, this is NO assistant, or helper, or "warmer-upper". You are getting 100% Stacee with her extensive medical knowledge and long experience.

But she's no isolationist; she's completely up to date on orthopedic inserts, and is working with me as I get used to my shoe insert (prescribed by my podiatrist). This is a great relief, as the insert was quite expensive, and actually uncomfortable to wear at first. Stacee came up with a detailed "ease-in" plan....which sure beat the perfunctory 15 second instructions from my pod.

My insurance is cheapie, and I must pay out of pocket, but it's worth it. She's also super organized w/ the insurance mumbo jumbo; she makes it easy to submit the paperwork needed so I can at least build my (quite high) deductible.

One other thing, that may seem small, but it's not: Stacee surrounds herself with GREAT people at Flow-SF (where she works). BOTH receptionists had learned my name after one visit (!), and greet me by name when I show up for appointments. If you arrive hurting and in a bad mood, you'll feel better already.

Do NOT let the Pac Heights location throw you off....Stacee and her group are the real thing, through and through."

"I had my right tibia and fibula broken by a guy driving a pickup truck who ran a stop sign and nailed me on my motorcycle. It was ugly--open fracture. I was in a wheelchair for 3 months after surgery. I started going to a regular PT shop where they did very little manual work, just gym work, strengthening. I hear that's common now because of the low reimbursement. There was one DPT, who ran the shop, and 2 young assistants. They were all very nice people, but I needed manual work to break up all my scar tissues--and believe you me I got a bunch. That's where Stacee came in.

About two months after working with Stacee, I was back in my gym working out full strength and swing dancing. She spent almost an hour each session working over my scar tissues and showing me new exercise as I improved. I won't lie--those sessions hurt--but I can't argue with the results.

Bottomline, if your recovery requires manual work, skip the PT shops and go straight to Stacee. I know, she doesn't take all insurance plans, but her fees are reasonable. I wish I had gone to her from the get-go. She's hands down the best PT I've ever worked with. And a knowledgeable and caring person."

"Some people may say that Stacee is "exceptionally skillful", "super smart" or "great at her job" .I however prefer to think of her as magical --- falling somewhere in line between the fairies and the unicorns.

I started seeing Stacee for a shoulder injury that had persisted through 7 years, 2 physical therapists, 1 chiropractor, a partridge and a pear tree. Within a few months of regular visits I was patched-up and as good as new. I left with the pinkie promise to Stacee that if I should break myself again I would come-in quickly for help because, apparently, injury is a lot easier to heal the more quickly it is addressed.....

Fast forward 6 months and I find myself having fiery pain in both my arms. Within 10 days I had emailed Stacee and 2 days later I was in her office for an appointment, all sorts of freaked-out that I had permanently damaged myself. Again, Stacee patched me up, this time it only took 3 visits over a course of 3 weeks.

Even more impressive than the result however is the process of working with Stacee. Stacee is deeply knowledgeable and intelligent in practicing her craft; she is able to trace an injury or pain to its root causes and to see subtle connections in the body that inform her treatment plans. You can almost see the hamsters in her head working overdrive.

But wait there's more...Stacee is fun to chat with , super cool and she really really knows and cares about her patients. When I see her, even if its been a while, she remembers me, the details of my life, and of my body. She and my massage therapist actually work in the same office and, out of the blue (months after she had last seen me), she reminded him to spend some time working on my feet to help address some postural issue I have. It just goes to show, her patients aren't just anonymous file folders in a drawer.

I know this is a pretty long review so I'll sum it-up --- injury and pain definitely suck, consider Stacee your silver lining.

Good luck with your recovery."

"Stacee is an amazing physical therapist -- so much so that I'm happy to pay out of pocket (or, from my FSA) account, even though she is not covered by my HMO.

I've been struggling with "frozen shoulder" syndrome for some time now, and when my rheumatologist gave me a photocopied set of instructions to follow, I was perplexed -- I just know how hard I should be pushing myself. I read what the Yelpers had to say, and started working with Stacee. She's smart, intuitive, and doesn't do one single thing that makes me feel uncomfortable or unheard.

When I came back after the first session and told her that there were some exercises I just couldn't work into my life because I'm a mult-tasker, she reconfigured my those exercises so that I could do them while I'm waiting for the tea kettle to boil or the shower to heat up. So now, for the first time ever, I'm doing ALL of my PT exercises, and doing them happily. How often does that happen?

Also -- the studio where she works is nice, mellow, and easily accessible by bus."

"I found Stacee Brown on Yelp after a shoulder injury and now understand why she has perfect reviews here. Stacee is kind, knowledgable, able to explain anatomy and motion in a language you can understand, and most importantly - she gets you to do the work required for healing to take place.

Her approach to fixing my shoulder was an intelligent combination of diagnosis, massage, education and exercise. Her office is calm, inviting, relaxing - not at all like a doctor's office. Though the work was difficult at times, seeing her was always a pleasure and I recommend her highly to anyone searching for a good physical therapist in SF."

Updated review

Stacee brown is amazing. I have gone to her for three different injuries and she has fixed my back and neck so that i am not in pain and can return to all activities. For the last injury she was able to get me back to normal within two weeks - she really is extremely talented and knowledgeable and i have been to quite a few physical therapists.
